Knights Knation Baseball is thrilled to announce the addition of the River Parish Renegades to its LAK Summer Program. The Renegades are a summer partnership between Destrehan High School and Hahnville High School and will now be known as the LAK Renegades in 2024. Both schools compete in the very competitive District 7-5A and have enjoyed great success through the years.

The Fighting Wildcats of Destrehan are annually among the top programs in the state of Louisiana and are led by Head Coach Chris Mire. The Wildcats are coming off a 23-10 record in 2023 advancing to the Division 1 Non-Select Regionals and are primed to make another deep run in 2024. The Hahnville Tigers are consistently a top program in the state of Louisiana and are led by Jared Vial. They are coming off a 19-11 season in 2023.  The Tigers advanced to the Bi District round of the Division 1 Non-Select Playoffs in 2023.  In the summer of 2023, Destrehan and Hahnville joined forces to play their summer season as the River Parish Renegades. Now moving forward, the two programs will join forces with the Knights and will compete as the LAK Renegades.

Destrehan Head Coach Chris Mire expressed his thoughts on joining forces with the Knights, “As a program, we are constantly evaluating where we are, where we want to be, and what changes are necessary to get there. Through conversations with Jack and Mike, we were able to share our needs and vision for the future, and it became clear that this partnership was something that needed to happen to continue to build our program and develop our players. The Destrehan Fighting Wildcat Baseball Program and River Parish Renegades, look forward to working together with Knights Knation, through the LAK program, to continue to raise the bar for the members of our program and our baseball community.  We are extremely excited about what lies ahead and are excited to be a part of a great organization.”

President / CEO Jack Cressend commented “We are truly excited to partner with Coach Mire, Coach Vial and the Renegades. We had a great meeting and realized we share many of the same values and principles. It makes perfect sense to work together for the betterment of all involved, especially the players. We truly look forward to developing a long-term relationship and working together for years to come.”

Hahnville Head Coach Jared Vial added “We at Hahnville High School are looking forward to partnering with a first class organization in the Knights. We are very excited to use their platform to not only build the Renegades brand, but our respective programs for the future. We feel that Jack, and The Knights Organization can help us reach the goals we have at Hahnville Baseball”

The Knights launched the LAK Summer Program seven- years ago to partner with elite Louisiana High School Programs – to bridge the gap between high school and select baseball. The Knights’ LAK Program was created with the vision to partner with the very best high school programs in our region to work together for the benefit of players. Experience has proven time-after-time that when you put your players first everyone wins. The Renegades will join Catholic, Live Oak, Brother Martin, Parkview Baptist, Zachary, Holy Savior Menard, Sam Houston and Fontainebleau High Schools to play its summer baseball under the Knights’ umbrella. The LAK partners will all participate in the highly recruited LAK Classic run by 2D Sports at the end of June 2024.

The Knights’ mission is to provide its players with all the necessary resources to fully develop not only as baseball players but also as young men. Player development is the organization’s central focus to guide players to become the best version of themselves.
