Knights Knation is pleased to announce its expansion into the state of Alabama with the addition of Knights alum Adam Purdy who will serve as director. Purdy was a member of the first ever 2007 and 2008 Knights teams and was the first ever draft pick from the Knights organization, being selected in the 34th round by the Minnesota Twins in the 2008 MLB Draft.  Purdy resides in Pell City, Alabama and will establish youth teams beginning in the Fall of 2023.

With respect to bringing Purdy on board as a director, Knights President Jack Cressend said the following: “We are fired up to have alum Adam Purdy back with the organization and can’t wait to work together with him to provide opportunities for the kids in Alabama and initially in Pell City. We always want to make our organization stronger by entering the right partnerships with quality people and Adam Purdy is the perfect person to lead our efforts in northern Alabama. He knows this program as good as anyone and for him to want to come back is incredibly meaningful and rewarding for us”

Purdy had this to say about joining the Knights as director, “Bringing an organization of this magnitude and standard to this area, opens doors for the children of this community like never before. This has been something I have wanted to do for a long time, I know when people see the name Knation they know great baseball, but as I get to explain the outreach programs and the standards and pursuit of creating great men and women through the organization, the impact is so much larger than baseball.  Having elite level baseball in this market will be great for those kids playing in our program, but this also will allow us to reach so many more children in a positive way through our community outreach plans. It’s truly an incredible opportunity that is not quantifiable at this point, I’m just so thankful to be able to be a part of it.”
