Jimmy McCarthy – Director of Player Personnel
Jimmy McCarthy is a 1991 graduate of Mandeville High School and played 4 years of high school baseball. He was part of the first team in Mandeville history to make it to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Jimmy began coaching in 1992 for Gary Cannizaro in the Mandeville Baseball Association and coached several future college players. In 1994/1995 he was the Head Coach of the Mandeville High metro baseball team. He is now heavily involved with the travel baseball circuit and has been coaching since 2009.
Jimmy is the grandson of former ABA Coach of the Year and Mississippi St’s legendary basketball coach and Mississippi Sports Hall of Famer James “Babe” McCarthy. Jimmy has great knowledge and passion for the game of baseball and has become a top hitting instructor. He is the Director of Player Personnel and helps oversees all daily aspects of the program’s operations. Jimmy has been instrumental in the growth of the Knights program through the years. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys hunting and is an avid LSU and New Orleans Saints fan. Jimmy is single and resides in Mandeville, Louisiana.
