Knights Knation Baseball is proud to announce the addition of Kenzie Roark to its Program Staff. Kenzie comes to the Knights by way of college softball, having most recently served as the Head Softball Coach at Ohio University for the past two seasons where she led the Bobcats to a Mid-AtlanticConference Tournament bid. Kenzie will serve as the Knights High School Softball Director.
Program Development Director Mike Sepcich, echoed Jack’s sentiments: “We made a commitment as a program three-years ago to assist young ladies in the softball world, knowing that our natural progression would be to add a High School Softball division. As a program our experience has proven time-after-time that when you put your players first everyone wins – adding Kenzie Roark to lead our High School Division will help do just that.” Sepcich added, “Anytime you can add a college coach to your staff with the extensive experience that Kenzie has is a win for the players in your program.”
Coach Roark had the following to say when asked about joining the Knights, “I am so excited for the opportunity to grow the game of softball with such an awesome organization. Knights Knation is a prolific name in the baseball community and with their great resources, and support I believe we can do something very special on the softball side. I’d like to thank Jack Cressend for bringing me into the organization, and I look forward to helping young women in the southeast get to the next level!”
Kenzie’s love for the game started early and led her to being one of the all-time great pitchers in Virginia Tech history. In addition to her team accomplishments, she ranks second all-time with 155 career appearances, fourth with 510 strikeouts and 661.1 innings pitched, and sixth with 51 wins and a .254 opponent batting average. Coach Roark was the ace of the Hokie staff for three of her four years at Virginia Tech and was an Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament and Player of the Week selection during her career, helping lead the Hokies to an ACC Championship and an appearance in the 2008 College World Series. As a college coach, Kenzie had stops at Virginia Tech, East Tennessee State, USC Upstate and Ohio University. She has coached numerous All Conference and All Region players, Conference Tournament Champions, and All Academic players.
The Knights launched its youth softball program three years ago and has continued its commitment to grow the game of softball in the Southeast. The Knights’ mission is to provide its players with all the necessary resources to fully develop not only as ball players but also as young men and women. Player development is the organization’s central focus to guide players to become the best version of themselves.
