Jimmy McCarthy – 13U

Jimmy McCarthy is a 1991 graduate of Mandeville High School. He played 4 years of high school baseball and was part of the first team in Mandeville history to make it to the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.  Jimmy began coaching in 1992 for Gary Cannizaro in the Mandeville Baseball Association and coached several future college players. In 1994/1995 he was the Head Coach of the Mandeville High metro baseball team. He is now heavily involved with the travel baseball circuit and has been coaching since 2009.

Jimmy is the grandson of former ABA Coach of the Year and Mississippi St’s legendary basketball coach and Mississippi Sports Hall of Famer James “Babe” McCarthy.  Jimmy has great knowledge and passion for the game of baseball and has become a top hitting instructor.  He oversees all aspects of the Knights Youth Program and works closely with our youth affiliate directors across the state of Louisiana.  He also organizes and oversees our indoor facility.  He currently is the head coach of our Nationally ranked 12U Mandeville team and regularly contributes his time to the Knights High School program.  Jimmy is single and resides in Mandeville, La.
