Josh Miller

Bio:  Coach Josh Miller is currently an assistant baseball coach for the Sumrall Bobcats and his 17th overall year of coaching. He is also the head coach for the Sumrall 7th grade football team.

He graduated from Calhoun City High School and played two years of college baseball at Belhaven under Coach Hill Denson. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education at Mississippi State University and received a Master’s degree in Educational Theory and Practice from Arkansas State University.

Before joining the Sumrall High School Baseball Program, he was at his Alma Mater, Calhoun City High School, where he was the head baseball coach for 16 years. He led his team to five Division Championships, played in two North Half Championships, and coached his  team to win its first ever Baseball State Championship in 2019 with a 31-4 record. His oldest son, Clay Miller, was a lead anchor as a left-handed hitter and first baseman. Coach Miller’s career record at Calhoun City was 251-165-4. While at Calhoun City, he also coached junior high football for 12 years and was an assistant high school football coach for three years, where he coached in two state championships; 2013 and 2015.

Coach Miller was selected to coach in the 2008 NEMCABB All Star game and the 2012 Crossroads Diamond All Star game. In 2019, he was named the MHSAA, NFHS Mississippi Baseball Coach of the Year.
