Bio:  David Welch is a former LHP who played 2 collegiate seasons at Delgado Community College under “Rags” Scheuermann and received his Associates degree in accounting. He then went on to play 2 additional collegiate years at Tulane University where he became captain of the baseball team his senior year and was part of the 1992 Metro Conference Championship team. He is a 1992 graduate of Tulane University, where he also where received his Bachelor of Science degree in sports management.

David has been married to Ana for 25yrs and has been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, Kaitlyn, Class of 2020, University of New Orleans & Mallory, Class of 2021, University of New Orleans and one talented young man, Chandler, Class of 2021, Holy Cross High School, who played for the Knights for 6 years before moving on to play at  Tulane University

David was drafted by the Cleveland Indians after his senior season in the 28th round in 1992, where he played for 3 seasons and 1 season with the Chicago White Sox. His professional stats are 18-14 while compiling a 3.17 ERA, pitched in 189 games, 306 1/3 IP, 277H, with 276K. 

In 2023 Welch started teaching at Northshore HS where he serves as the pitching coach of the baseball team.
