
Kirk McCarty – Gulf Coast Youth Director
Kirk is a 2018 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a starting pitcher and All Conference USA performer for the Golden Eagles from 2015-2017 before being drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 7th Round of the 2017 MLB First Year Player Draft. In his first full season he led the Indians organization in strikeouts with 161 strikeouts in 146.1 innings pitched. He is still pitching in the Indians organization while he serves as Youth Director for the Gulf Coast. Coach McCarty made his Major League debut on April 24th 2022 tossing 3 innings against the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium. Kirk finished the 2022 season with a Big League record of 4-3 w/ a 4.54 ERA in 37.2 IP and was a member of the Guardians 2022 AL Central Division Champions.
